$1 million donation from Eastman Credit Union being used to build homes for Helene victims
Eastman Credit Union has issued the biggest donation in their 90-year history with a $1 million gift to Appalachian Service Project to aid in construction of new housing for victims of Hurricane Helene in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
A statement from both groups said the infusion of the ECU donation will help ASP build 30 to 40 additional homes.
The non-profit group has already received more than 200 applications for housing since September’s disaster.
