17-year-old dead following head-on crash in Grayson County

A 17-year-old girl has died and an investigation is underway following a crash in Grayson County, Virginia on Wednesday. According to Virginia State Police, the crash happened at around noon on Route 805, Spring Valley Road, outside of Elk Creek.

A report says a Chevy Suburban was traveling North when it crossed into the opposite lane and struck a Chevy Cobalt head-on. The driver of the Cobalt, an unnamed 17-year-old girl from Grayson County, died at the scene. The driver of the suburban was transported to a hospital for serious injuries and VSP says charges are pending.
