Johnson City recommends residents find low risk Halloween activities identified by CDC list
Leaders in Johnson City are encouraging residents to celebrate Halloween with low risk events in line with CDC recommendations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
A Facebook post from the city says CDC’s list reports traditional Halloween activities can present high-risks for spreading coronavirus, including door-to-door trick-or-treating and attending crowded costume parties.
The post shares the same recommendations for residents to find low risk activities on Halloween night such as carving pumpkins or doing a scavenger hunt in or around one’s home. Johnson City noted they cannot regulate door-to-door trick-or-treating because it is not an official city holiday.
