Clintwood man sentenced to 15 years in prison on attempted child porn charges

A Dickenson County, Va man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on attempted production of child pornography and traveling across state lines in an attempt to engage in sexual conduct with a minor.

Gregory McKnight Jr., 28, of Clintwood, Va, was sentenced in US District Court in Knoxville earlier this week in the case. Prosecutors say McKnight sent messages of sexual nature to a female minor, and also attempted to get the minor to send him sexually explicit depictions of her in addition to meeting for sex. Authorities also said McKnight drove from Virginia to Tennessee to have sex with the minor.

After McKnight is released from prison, he will be required to register as a sex offender.
