New traffic light opens Tuesday in Johnson City

Johnson City commuters driving on West Market Street will have a new traffic light added to their drive time.

A new light at the West Market Street and Novus Drive intersection is now in operation. Novus Drive opened last year and extends from Indian Ridge Road through the North State of Franklin Road intersection over to West Market Street.

Traffic has steadily increased since Novus Drive opened according to Johnson City officials.

This new road will align with the shopping center with the new Publix location scheduled to open soon.
