Former Kingsport restaurant owner labeled as “Killer Clown” out of prison
The Killer Clown case from the 1990s that involved a former Kingsport restaurant owner has come to a conclusion.
It came over the weekend when Shelia Keen Warren was released from a Florida prison after serving 18 months for the second-degree murder of Marlene Warren, her current husband’s previous wife.
After years of delays, Warren took a plea deal last April but maintained her innocence. DNA testing on old evidence linked Warren to the crime. Police accused Warren of dressing up like a clown, driving to the victim’s residence then shooting her when Warren came to the door with balloons and a gun. Warren, who was a co-owner of the Purple Cow, was arrested at her Abingdon home in 2017.
