Court appearance for man accused of killing brother and grandmother
The man accused of killing his 7-year-old brother and grandmother while he was still a juvenile in 2022, appeared in court for a hearing Monday. Jordan Allen faces two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his brother, Jessie Allen, and his grandmother, Sherry Cole, in April 2022. At the time of their deaths, Allen was 16. Allen appeared for a motions hearing involving two witnesses. Allen made statements to detectives after the killings and allegedly told investigators he had planned to kill them earlier in the day. The victims were located after police responded to a call on Old Snapps Ferry Road on the night of April 24, 2022. Both Jessie and Cole were found dead with trauma to their heads. It was then that Allen admitted to hitting the victims in the head multiple times with a hammer. Prosecutors confirmed he would be tried as an adult and he was previously found competent to stand trial after a psychological evaluation. The case is set to go to trial on January 13 next year.
