Multiple house fires reported over Christmas Holiday
No injuries were reported after a house fire in Butler Wednesday evening. According to officials with the Butler Volunteer Fire Department, the fire began in a back room of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire department officials said the home is a total loss, and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents. Marion Fire-EMS crews in Marion responded to a house fire Christmas Eve. Crews there responded to a call of an active house fire shortly before 5:45 p.m. First responders found heavy flames coming out of a home in the 200 block of Caroline Drive. Crews searched the property and found no one was in the building and no injuries were reported. And one person was hospitalized following a house fire in Norton Tuesday morning. That fire occurred at a residence on Kentucky Avenue Southwest, just before eleven. Crews found one person was trapped inside the home and had to be rescued. The person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A second person was able to escape the fire.
