VCEDA board approves millions in loans and grants

The Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority board approved $4.58 million in loans and grants Thursday, for five projects in southwest Virginia. Up to $4 million was approved for the West River Conveyors and Machinery Company in Buchanan County. The remaining $580 thousand will be divided up between the Russell County Industrial Development Authority, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise Foundation, and the Breaks Interstate Park Commission. Just over $9,000 was approved for the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority, Telehealth Fund to Appalachian Family Care, in Grundy, VA, to finance the Appalachian Family Care Telehealth Initiative‘s hardware, software, licensing fees, and associated costs.
