School and police officers stop gun-toting student at Richlands High

The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of an investigation of a juvenile student at Richlands High School bringing a gun to campus.

The office’s statement said a swift response by school officials and law enforcement stopped the student’s actions and detained him.

The sheriff says more details will be released but there is no threat to the school or the public after the incident.
