Attorney General: Too many Chinese pitfalls threaten Tennessee consumers using DeepSeek

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skremitti issued a statement Wednesday to dissuade consumers from using the AI tool DeepSeek due to the app’s connection to the Chinese Communist Party.
Skremitti’s office says risky online traps exist with DeepSeek—impacting a consumer’s identity, sensitive financial data, and low-grade cybersecurity measures.
He noted DeepSeek AI can measure every personal action a user can make to copy your keystrokes and the history of the websites you visit to make a copy of your activity to use in their AI system operations.
