Suspects arresting in “drug operation” at Haysi Regional Jail

Two suspects were arrested in connection to a “large-scale drug operation” in the Haysi Regional Jail in Virginia. The two individuals are charged with delivering drugs to an inmate, a class 5 felony, as well as distributing a Schedule III controlled substance after a months-long investigation uncovered the operation. Investigators believe the suspects profited an estimated $30,000. One of the suspects reportedly pleaded guilty on April 10 and was sentenced to five years in the Virginia state prison system. The investigation remains ongoing.
