ETSU Hall of Fame member, PGA pro JC Snead dead at 84

East Tennessee State University Hall of Fame member and former PGA Tour professional JC Snead died Friday in his hometown of Hot Springs, Virginia at the age of 84.
Snead, whose uncle, Sam Snead, is considered one of the greatest golfers of all time with 82 tour wins, captured 12 sanctioned titles during his career and a 2nd place finish in the 1973 Masters.
Snead was an all-sport standout at Bath County High then attended ETSU but did not compete for the Buccaneers due to his commitments to his minor league baseball contract with the Washington Senators and NCAA regulations.
JC Snead was a 22-year competitor on the PGA and Champions Tour and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in Johnson City in 1980.
