Flooding affects Helene ravaged routes again in Carter County

Carter County Sheriff’s Office says a temporary bridge in the Poga and Elk Mills area is submerged due to floodwaters. Carter County Sheriff Mike Fraley said the lower temporary bridge has water “just over it,” but said he is confident first responders could cross in an emergency. Fraley noted that the upper temporary bridge is still standing, but floodwaters are slowly washing out the nearby road. Officials in Carter County say they are working on a solution with more updates forthcoming.
