Former school board chairman pleads guilty to bribes for nude teen photos online

Disgraced school board member Todd Williams of Smyth County entered a guilty plea Thursday to federal child porn charges.
Prosecutors said Williams used $10,000 in funds, video games, and tennis shoes to bribe six teenagers he met online to send him nude photos and in one specific case, paid a teen he met on Snapchat to take photos and video of the sexual assault of the teen’s 10-year-old stepbrother.

Williams’ predatory activity on the web was discovered in September of 2022 when a teen from Oklahoma notified the FBI of the school board chairman’s request for nude photos. Williams could receive up to 30 years in prison at his sentencing.
