Gray, Tennessee man accused of homicide captured in Fall Branch
A homicide suspect in a Washington County, Tennessee case based in Gray has been captured.
Elijah B. Gates, 24, eluded police for several hours after he was charged with the death of a resident at a home on Dean Street. Hospital personnel was first told the victim was injured as a result of a fall.
Investigators then learned Gates who was arrested in Fall Branch had been in a fistfight with the person who later died at the medical center from a head injury. Gates was later charged with aggravated assault and reckless homicide.
Gates was issued a $100,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment in Sessions Court Tuesday morning in Jonesborough.
