Guard at Southwest Virginia prison fired following contraband investigation

A corrections officer at a state prison in Southwest Virginia has been fired and criminally charged after he admitted to smuggling drugs into his workplace.
A report from the DOC said 29-year-old Raekwon Robins transported contraband into the Pocahontas State Correctional Center in Tazewell County and told agents he planned on making more deliveries. The statement said more than $150,000 in narcotics was found at Robins’ home along with a gun and $1K in cash.
Robins faces three counts of drug possession with intent to distribute and two counts of delivering a controlled substance to an inmate.
