Hurricane debris worker approached by a man with a hatchet
An equipment worker removing debris from Hurricane Helene was encountered by a man holding a hatchet.
It happened in Jonesborough on Taylor Bridge Road Sunday afternoon when the worker saw 50-year-old Michael Ray Rose walking in his direction, causing him to get back in his machinery.
Rose told officers he wanted to find out what was going on while still holding the axe. He’s charged with one count of aggravated assault.
