Massive cargo continues trip to Eastman Chemical company Friday night

An oversized load that was supposed to arrive at Eastman Chemical Company earlier this week is currently stopped in Hawkins County but is now scheduled to continue it’s journey. According to TDOT, the oversized load is currently parked at Central Avenue and Carters Valley Road. The cargo, at 229 feet long and weighing 410,000 pounds, will begin moving again at 9 p.m. Friday.
The oversized load will travel down Carters Valley Road before turning onto I-26. It will then take Exit 4B and briefly travel on John B. Dennis Highway before turning onto Wilcox Drive. It will travel down Wilcox before turning onto Lincoln Street and arriving at Eastman. Two more oversized loads are expecting to be delivered to Eastman later this month.
