Multiple charges for man after Saturday pursuit

A man received multiple charges after leading the THP on a pursuit, striking three vehicles and assaulting a trooper, on Saturday. A hands-free violation of a Volkswagen Passat driver on SR 126 in Sullivan County started the pursuit. The man was identified as 34-year-old Caleb Sims. At the intersection of SR 126 and SR 394, he reportedly struck a third vehicle and again fled. When the pursuit reached SR 126 and US 11W, two THP troopers used their vehicles to end the chase, disabling Sims’ car. Troopers used a taser to remove Sims from the driver’s seat and took him into custody. Sims was charged with assault on an officer, DUI, driving on a suspended license, reckless endangerment and three counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
