Murder charge filed after New Year’s Day stabbing in Hamblen County
A Hamblen County man is jailed and charged with the first-degree murder of his stepfather.
A report from Sheriff Chad Mullins’ office said the body of Mark Waller, 57, was found after a 911 call made just before 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Initial reports said the suspect, 21-year-old Tristan Doan, fled the scene after he allegedly stabbed Waller. Deputies and Morristown officers tracked down Doan just after 2 a.m.
