New vintage mural art project coming to downtown Elizabethton

The City of Elizabethton in partnership with Main Street Elizabethton has selected Jospeh Maye of Hexagoat Art as the artist to complete the newest mural project for Downtown Elizabethton. Hexagoat Art will paint a vintage style postcard mural on panels that will be mounted to Eagle Center Antique’s side brick wall at the intersection of E Elk Avenue and Armed Forces Drive, in the middle of the downtown district. The project is funded by the TN Arts Commission Rural Arts Project Grant. Main Street is asking for community feedback to determine what the postcard mural should highlight. A survey is open until Friday 2/28 on the Downtown Elizabethton Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as printed versions available at the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library.
