Petworks stops adoption of dogs due to positive Parvo test
Petworks Animal Services in Kingsport has temporarily stopped adoptions due to one of the dogs at the facility testing positive for Parvo. Petworks said in a social media post Thursday that the shelter vaccinates every dog that enters the facility but noted it’s possible for stray dogs to not show symptoms of Parvo for several weeks. The shelter has been working to clean and disinfect the facility since the diagnosis. Petworks said those wanting to help the facility can donate towels, Purina dog and puppy kibble, or money for medical treatment and disinfectants and say that cats and kittens are still adoptable.
