Ready SWVA, New Initiative For Expanded Access To Affordable Child Care

Keeping young, talented, employees in southwest Virginia as well as the rest of the region is a significant problem, much of it is attributed to insufficient access to childcare. The United Way of Southwest Virginia hopes to solve that problem with a new initiative. Ready SWVA aims to expand access to affordable childcare so families can return to work. Wednesday, more than 150 Southwest Virginia leaders from business, education and government gathered in Abingdon for a panel discussion on Ready SWVA’s public-private partnerships.
