Report: Tennessee ranks among least safest states for school reopening
A report on the safest state’s for schools to reopen finds Tennessee to be ranked near the bottom of the list.
The 2020 report by WalletHub used 15 key metrics for determining which states are the safest for reopening schools, including the number of child COVID-19 cases per 100,000 children, average public school class size, and likelihood of COVID-19 infections.
The list ranked Tennessee 45th, while neighboring Virginia was ranked 14th. Vermont, Maine, and Pennsylvania ranked in the top 3 safest states for reopening schools.
