Sen. Pillion PPE tax exemption bill signed by VA Gov. Northam
A bill filed by a Southwest Virginia lawmaker seeking to grant temporary tax relief on sales of PPE has been signed by Gov. Ralph Northam.
The bipartisan measure authored by 40th Distrist Sen. Todd Pillion will allow for businesses who have state standard COVID-19 safety protocols to not have to pay taxes on purchases of several different personal protective equipment items.
These items include disinfecting products, face coverings, and gloves. Northam signed the bill on March 11.
