Smyth County, Va Schools heading back to in-person learning on hybrid plan starting Oct. 1
School leaders in Smyth County, Va have approved a plan to move from fully remote to hybrid learning for all students in the district.
The Smyth County School Board met Monday night and approved a hybrid plan that would see PreK-12 grade students go in-person two days a week on an AB schedule by alphabetical order. Students in Group A will go Monday and Thursday, while Group B students will attend Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday will be used a fully remote learning day.
The plan takes effect beginning Oct. 1 until further notice, and in the meantime, students will stay fully remote until then.
Parents have the option to keep their children on a fully remote learning track.
