Suspect in Bristol domestic call in custody

A report from the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office said the suspect in a Friday morning domestic incident in Bristol, Virginia is in custody after being arrested near Nordyke Road.

An earlier report from Bristol, Virginia police said Travis Wayne Honaker hit his partner with a lamp then prevented her mother from contacting authorities.

Honaker is facing seven charges including aggravated malicious wounding, strangulation and assault and battery after the incident at a home on Catherine Street.

Honaker reportedly left the residence and then ran from police after he abandoned a vehicle and fled into a wooded area near Wolf Run Road off Gate City Highway. He is being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail. The statement also said a tip to police resulted in Honaker’s arrest.
