Tri Cities musician takes home Grammy Award
A Tri Cities musician just picked up his first Grammy award. Trey Hensley is best know as a Bluegrass guitarist and was named the 2023 “Guitar Play of the Year” by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Now Telford native and David Crockett graduate just took home a Grammy Award for “Best Traditional Blues Album”. The award came from his picking on the Taj Mahal Sextet’s “Swingin’ Live at the Church in Tulsa.” Hensley currently resides with his family in Nashville and is working on multiple projects. Over the years, Hensley has worked with a diverse group of artists from multiple genres, including Stone Temple Pilots and Green Day, to Marty Stewart and Johnny Cash. You’ll be able to see Hensley live in Jonesbourough on March 22nd with a performance at the newly renovated Jackson Theatre.
