Two juveniles criminally charged in four-hour attack on 10-year-old in Elizabethton

Elizabethton Chief of Police Jason Shaw said two juveniles accused of beating a 10-year-old girl over several hours have been taken into custody.

The two girls are charged with kidnapping and assault in connection to the July 19 incident at a city apartment complex.

The child’s mother said the girls invited her daughter to their home to play. Four hours later, the girl returned bloodied and bruised with visible injuries on her face and back.

There’s been no word on if an investigation has begun into the juveniles’ parents. The two suspects were taken to a juvenile detention center and are expected to go before a judge this week.
