Washington County, TN Commission approves new safety cameras

The Washington County, Tennessee Commission approved a resolution Monday that will allow eight new Flock Safety Security cameras to be installed along certain highways. Sheriff Keith Sexton said the cameras are beneficial in solving crimes like thefts and kidnapping. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office already has four Flock cameras. The cameras can help locate tag numbers of vehicles used in crimes. The cameras also show real-time video and allows users of the system access to their security footage nationwide. The new cameras will only be installed along public highways and Sexton said they wouldn’t be anywhere that could impact anyone’s privacy.
