Winter arrives and warming stations are open in Carter County

Two Carter County churches will open as warming stations as winter weather has arrived. Deliverance Church of God and Doe River Baptist Church opened Thursday and will remain open until Sunday at 8 a.m. The City of Elizabethton announced Wednesday that Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, whose facilities are still being used for flood recovery and relief efforts, has now partnered with the other local churches to serve as warming stations. Both churches will open as warming stations throughout the winter whenever temperatures or wind chills drop to 25 degrees or below.
